It’s hard to believe we are only a week away from November. Now is the time to start thinking about your goals and plans for 2022.
One of the things I always plan is a physical “crucible” of some sort so I am continually pushing my 20x Factor. If you don’t know what a 20X Factor is it’s a concept that Mark Divine writes about in his NYT bestseller, “The Way of the SEAL”!
The idea is you are capable of doing 20 times more than you previously thought possible. This philosophy has been followed by warrior traditions of the past such as the ancient Spartans, Eastern martial arts such as the Shaolin monks, and native warriors such as the Apache Scouts.
I ran the Spartan Super in Asheville, NC, a few years ago and I experienced a 20X moment after the race. Up until this point in my life that race was the hardest thing I’d ever completed.
As I walked back to my car I remember thinking, if I just did that what else am I capable of doing, and the thought transcended the physical. How much more can I do in business, relationships, life in general?
In 2022 I am going to do a SEALFit 20x. The SEALFit 20X is a 12-hour crucible led by current or former Navy SEALs. The SEALFit Instructor’s goal is not to make you quit, but to push you to your perceived limits so you can find your own 20X Factor. The goal is not to find out how tough you are, but growth through challenge!
I have been signed up since March 2020 but a little thing called COVID keeps pushing it back. I am currently targeting April.
